This female Common Bluetail Damselfly has her abdomen extended down into the water where she is placing eggs on the vegetation below the surface.

A large bloke like me, only centimetres away and with a camera making loud clicking noises, is an insufficient threat to disturb her from the task.

In fact she looks like she might be trying to intimidate me. Thank goodness damselflies are so small. If this one had been the size of a small dog, it may have tried to rip my leg off.
